Karl Thedéen
Chief Executive Officer

Karl Thedéen joined Transmode in March 2007 as Chief Executive Officer. Karl oversees Transmode’s day to day operations and drives long term strategy and growth. Prior to joining Transmode Karl held a number of senior management roles at Ericsson, most recently Vice President - Head of Product Area Wireline. In this role Karl had responsibility for wireline products and new product introduction. In addition the role included managing relationships with major external partners and Karl also took a leading role in Ericsson’s recent acquisitions, including leading the bid team on the Entrisphere acquisition.

Prior to this role, Karl has held a number of senior management roles in both sales and product management and also undertook a period in the Swedish Naval Reserve.

Tomas Kihlstrand
Chief Financial Officer

Tomas Kihlstand was appointed as CFO in 2007.

Prior to Transmode Tomas worked as CFO for Atea Group since 2004. Tomas has also worked as CFO for Allgon Group from 2001-2003, as CFO of Electrolux - Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, a division within United Technologies, from 1999-2001 and in various managerial positions within finance for Electrolux group companies from 1987-1999 as well as for Digital Equipment between 1985 – 1987.

Education: Tomas Kihlstrand holds a bachelor of economic science degree from the University of Stockholm.

Sten Nordell
Chief Technical Officer

Sten Nordell joined Transmode in January 2009 as Chief Technology Officer. Sten brings valuable experience to Transmode from his senior management positions in both the operator and supplier segments and with organizations ranging from Start-ups to large multi-nationals. His latest position was as CCO (Chief Convergence Officer) at Telenor Sweden, which succeeded his role as VP Networks and Platform Strategy at the Telenor Group.

Prior to these roles, Sten was CTO at Utfors AB, Director of Business & Technology Strategy EMEA of Nortel Networks and CTO of Bay Networks Internet and Telecom division in EMEA.

Mohamad Ferej
Vice President R & D

Mohamad Ferej joined Transmode in 2005 when Lumentis AB merged with Transmode. He is responsible for all R&D activities for both the TM-Series and TS-Series platforms. At Lumentis he worked as Director of Hardware Engineering, being co-founder and system architect for the TM-Series platform.

Prior to co-founding Lumentis, Mohamad worked at Ericsson Telecom developing PDH, SDH and WDM systems, latterly being responsible for the development of Optical line cards in the ERION WDM system.

Björn Andersson
Vice President Sales

Björn Andersson joined the company in 2005 when Lumentis AB merged with Transmode. He is responsible for the company’s Sales department and global sales growth and strategy. Before this role he worked as Account Manager at Lumentis AB and then headed up the solutions department at the merged Transmode.

Prior to Lumentis Björn worked at Ericsson Telecom as a Product Manager and at Sycamore Networks as a key Account Manager. Bjorn brings technical and commercial know how into the company and a vast experience in optical networking.

Ola Elmeland
Vice President Marketing & Communications

Ola Elmeland was appointed as Vice President Marketing in 2007.

Ola Elmeland founded the consulting company Elmeland Business Partner in 2006 and prior to that served in various managerial positions in Ericsson from 1994-2006, including as General Manager of Private Radio Systems and Vice President Marketing, Nordic and Baltics.

Ola Elmeland served as a member of the board of directors of Trustlink and Telenor Connect from 2002-2003 and is currently a board member of TC Connect.

Ola Elmeland holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from IMD Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Master of Science (electronics engineering) degree from Linköping Institute of Technology in Sweden.

Carl-Olof Nydén
Vice President Operations and Customer Services

Carl-Olof Nydén joined Transmode in November 2009. Carl-Olof’s core competencies lie in supply chain management, logistics, sourcing and procurement. He has more than 20 years experience from the electronics industry, where he has applied his leadership skills in operational development and gained experience from working with culture differences through several years of managerial responsibilities in China and Japan.

Before he joined Transmode, Carl-Olof worked for the Norwegian radio link manufacturer NERA and earlier employers include Perlos and Ericsson.
